Our First Christmas Tree!

Last night John and I decorated our first tree together as a married couple. We listened to holiday music and drank hot chocolate while we hung the ornaments. It was so much fun!

Chrismas in Oklahoma

We had a wonderful Christmas with John's family in Oklahoma. This was our first Christmas to spend with John's little neice which made it even more special and fun.

Chef Claire created a delicious Christmas lunch with turkey, gravy, stuffing, mashed potatoes, rolls, three bean salad, and cranberries, mmmm!

Bon Appetite!

We had a lot of fun opening presents. Joe looks really happy in his new scarf from John and me.

Joley and I pose in our new earrings from Joe and Claire.

Andy and John look really cute in their new winter caps.

The most fun was watching Amira open her presents!

Amira got to open the biggest present of all...

...Elmo's Restaurant!

Uncle John enjoyed one of his favorite pastimes with Amira...naptime!

The day after Christmas we had a fantastic dinner at the Vintage House in Burlington, Oklahoma.

It was a truly memorable and special Christmas at the Newsoms!

Rockefeller Center

We visited Rockefeller Center to see the Christmas tree with our friend Richard. It was my first time to see the lit tree in person.

Christmas Tree

Our first Christmas tree in New York...
...and some of our favorite ornaments.
These ornaments pretty much sum up two of our favorite things...shoes and cheeseburgers.
I made snowflakes for fun this year which I think look really nice against our peach walls.

I had fun taking pictures of the tree's reflection in the mirror.

I used some of the snowflakes as doilies for the beautiful red carnations John brought home and a candle. The snowflakes make an interesting reflection.

Feeling the Holiday Spirit

Everyone is getting ready for the holidays around New York...I love it!!!
John and I popped into this Japanese gift shop yesterday after seeing their beautiful Christmas tree display in the window. I never thought a white Christmas tree could be so pretty!
The little corner grocery stores are selling these Christmas berry branches (I doubt this is the technical term, but it's the one I like to use!) John brought these home for me because he knew how much I loved them.
Coincidentally, I had purchased this branch just a few hours earlier before he came home! The more Christmas berry branches, the better!

John and I stopped in Anthropology last night and had soooo much fun! It was completely tricked out in Christmas stuff, including a little village of cardboard Christmas houses. I'm feeling very inspired to make my own!
John surprised me with an early Christmas present the other night. My entire life I have wanted a display case like this one for little keepsakes. It is actually an old drawer (you can see the drawer pull on the right) that he found at an antique store on his walk home. I LOVE it!!!!
