T-shirts Reincarnated

I used some of John's old black and white T-shirts to crochet this bathroom rug last week. The jersey knit fabric is perfect for a bathroom rug...it's soft and cushy beneath bare feet...and of course it's a great place for a napping beagle!

I discovered how to prep the old T-shirts for crochet on my favorite crochet blog, Laughing Purple Goldfish. Believe it or not, this rug only took a few days to complete and I love that it is a reincarnation of John's old T-shirts!

Georgie Naps

My crocheted rainbow blanket has become one of Georgie's favorite napping spots. I think this picture clearly shows how much she loves it because she fell asleep with her face buried deep in the folds. It was so cute!

Plastic Grocery Sack Bag

I finally finished my plastic grocery sack bag this week! I started this early last fall, but then moved on to other projects and never quite finished. While organizing my crochet basket the other day I came across it and decided it was time to finish. I love how it turned out and was inspired to try another. I'm going to crochet a bag similar in shape and size to this one, but using only produce bags which I have been saving for the last 6 months.

Think Punk Gala

Last week John and I were invited to the Think Punk Gala, an event honoring the 30th anniversary of Karole Armitage's first New York performance.
Here we are looking fashionably punk, courtesy of our good friend and designer, Michael H.

Georgie's New Sweater

Mid January was REALLY cold in New York...colder than Georgie and I are used to. I noticed all the other dogs in the nieghborhood wearing sweaters and coats and felt bad that I didn't have anything for Georgie to wear but her raincoat (which actually is pretty good when it's snowing). John and I did actually buy her a little coat, but when we brought it home, it didn't fit her round little belly. So, I decided to try crocheting her a sweater, something I've never made before, and surprisingly, it came out pretty cute!
